Coming this June:The talk this month is titled: Islam in the horn of Africa.
The talk will cover the following areas:
· A brief history of Islam in Africa and how it spread to become the biggest religion in Africa.
· The current situation of Muslims in Africa
· The on-going turmoil taking place in countries such as Somalia
· What future lies for Islam and Muslims in Africa.
The talk will be delivered by none other than our respected Ustad Fadilat Dar, a retired teacher with over 40 years of experience in the education sector.

This is to remind everyone NOT TO MISS our monthly community gathering that will take place Sunday, 1st April at the Quad.
Imam Bukhari reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Verily those I love most and those who will be closest to me are those of you who have the best morals.” And he (SAW) was asked once about the best assets that would make a Muslim enter Heaven, he said: “The fear of Allah and good morals”.
The talk will be delivered by Abdullatif Osman of Companions of the Mosque.

Education of Muslim Children in Britain
Coming this December: Education of Muslim Children in Britain.
The talk will be delivered by none other than our respected Ustad Fadilat Dar, a retired teacher with over 40 years of experience in the education sector. When it comes to the education of our youth, Ustad Fadilat Dar has always been a very passionate and a vocal advocate of our children getting the best of education without losing our identity. Although he has officially retired, he still spends most of his time volunteering in local community projects, helping Muslim children both in Islamic and secular studies.

The Illumination of Imaan
Coming this October: The talk will focus on how can we strive by working on our morals and manners to attain the illumination of Imaan in our hearts, just like our pious predecessors.

The sisters gathering should end @ 2:40pm followed by gathering of everyone (male & female) at the quad to socialise (brothers with brothers and sisters with sisters. It is also good opportunities for children to get to know other Muslim children in the community.
Once again everyone is encouraged to bring a dish but not Compulsory.

Getting the most from Ramadaan
Coming this July: As the blessed month of Ramadaan is fast approaching, COM would like to invite you to look at how to get the most out of your Ramadaan, through looking at the Quran, the Sunnah and the actions of the rightly guided companions of the Prophet Muhammad (saw). Join COM’s guest speaker Sheikh Abu Suhaib as he explains the importance of following the Quran and Sunnah to the rightly guided companions, and significantly, how we can follow their examples and experience in dealing with our own lives.

Islam and social justice
Coming this May: Unlike the negative stereotype of Islam being portrayed in the media as being from the dark ages and the sharia law being described as barbaric.
This talk is aimed to educate the non Muslims and Inspire the Muslims of the great justice system in Islam and how it can alter and radically transform the Individual and society when implemented correctly as it did in the past where the Muslim nation was the envy of the rest of the World.
